A brawl that recently broke out between multiple characters outside a popular tourist attraction on Hollywood Boulevard and was captured on video was being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, authorities said Wednesday.
The incident occurred outside the Hollywood and Highland entertainment complex and in front of the TLC Chinese Theatre sometime Tuesday afternoon.
In the video, which was posted to website FilmOn.com, people dressed as the characters Mr. Incredible and Batgirl appeared to have been involved in a fight when someone wearing a Chewbacca outfit stepped in and tried to stop the dispute as passersby gathered to watch.
Then, a costumed Freddy Krueger intervened and also attempted to break up the character fight, as did someone dressed as Waldo from the “Where’s Waldo” series, the video showed.
It was not immediately clear whether the characters were successful in breaking up the fight, because the video cuts ahead to another point in the confrontation.
It picked up just moments before Mr. Incredible could be seen throwing Batgirl to the ground as a crowd looked on in apparent shock. One pedestrian appeared to confront the man in the Mr. Incredible outfit after he body slammed the woman on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the theater.
The video ended at that point.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the original fight.
LAPD Officer Drake Madison confirmed to KTLA that the incident occurred late Tuesday afternoon, but offered no other details.
Madison said that no arrests were made and no injuries had been reported.
He added that LAPD units were investigating the dispute.
KTLA’s Jennifer Thang contributed to this report.
