A 13-yer-old boy was critically injured Friday after being struck by two Mercedes while riding his bike in Huntington Beach.

It happened around 2:50 p.m. at the intersection of Edwards Street and Heil Avenue (map), according to Lt. John Domingo with the Huntington Beach Police Department.

A white 2010 Mercedes C300 sedan was traveling eastbound on Heil Avenue when it collided with the bicyclist who was traveling northbound on Edwards, according to a news release from Huntington Beach Police.

After being struck by the first Mercedes, the bicyclist collided with a white 2006 Mercedes CLK 350 which had been traveling westbound on Heil Avenue, the release stated.

The driver of the Mercedes C300, a 28-year-old woman, stopped and was questioned at the scene, Domingo said.

She was not arrested.

The boy, identified as a student at Spring View Middle School, was transported to the hospital with “significant trauma,” Domingo said.
