Chinese Exchange Student Dies After Drowning in Anaheim Pool

A Chinese exchange student died after drowning in his host-families pool in Anaheim Wednesday night.

Reports of a drowning in the 800 block of West North Street (map) were made to officials Wednesday night, Anaheim police Sgt. Mark Lynch said.

A 16-year-old drowned in the deep-end of the pool while swimming with other people.

The teenager was transported to Anaheim Memorial Medical Center in critical condition, Lynch said.

He died soon after, reports later stated.
