Couple Engaging in ‘Sexual Acts’ on Busy Modesto Intersection Caught by Passing Officer

Two people have been arrested in Modesto after police say they engaged in sexual activity on a grassy area at a busy intersection.

A patrol officer saw Maria Anzaldua, 48, and Raymond Chavez, 29, becoming intimate in broad daylight between 19th Street, H Street and La Loma Avenue Sunday, Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves said.

The officer had to circle back around to tell them to stop, Graves said.

Anzaldua was arrested and booked on suspicion of lewd acts and public drunkenness. Chavez, of Ceres was booked on charges of lewd acts and violating his probation, police said.
