In the city of Pomona, a silver Honda Accord struck a woman and killed a 6-year-old girl as they were crossing the street. The collision occurred around 8:02 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the corner of Towne and Lexington Avenue.

According to Pomona Police Department’s Aly Mejia, officers responded to a call and found the two pedestrians lying on the street.

The older woman was transported to a local hospital and treated for severe injuries. The child died at the scene.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the child as 6-year-old girl from Pomona.

There are no further details at this time.
