Deer Reunited With Family After Rescue From Wrought-Iron Fence at Arcadia Residence

A distressed fawn got a new lease on life last Saturday after it was rescued it from a wrought-iron gate at a home in Arcadia, officials said.

Firefighters responded to an animal rescue call in the 1200 block of Oakhaven Lane around 11:30 a.m. and found the deer stuck, according to the Arcadia Fire Department.

Fire crews assisted Pasadena Animal Control with freeing the deer using a sheet. After a brief rescue operation, the fawn was released back to the hillside where its mother and sibling were waiting, said Capt. John Twitchell of the Arcadia Fire Department.
