Authorities are searching for a driver who fatally struck a pedestrian on the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles and then fled the scene overnight.
The crash was reported shortly before midnight Thursday near Los Angeles Street.
The pedestrian was apparently walking in the freeway lanes when struck by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson told KTLA.
No information about the victim has been released.
The spokesperson did not provide a description of the vehicle or the driver being sought in the hit-and-run crash.
A Sigalert for the area was issued following the crash but has since been lifted.
