A 23-year-old man was charged Wednesday with murder in the stabbing death of his grandmother, whose body was found Monday in her East Los Angeles home.
Armando Sepulveda was also charged with the special allegation of “personal use of a deadly weapon, a knife,” according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The body of Anna Sepulveda was discovered by L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies conducting a welfare check requested by family members after the 59-year-old failed to show up for work at her daughter’s Alhambra business, the release stated.
The victim’s body was found in the kitchen of her home in the 100 block of North Gage Avenue.
She had suffered multiple stab wounds to her upper body, sheriff’s officials said.
Armando Sepulveda, who lived with his grandmother, was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the body was found.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
