The fire was declared a knockdown at about 8:15 a.m. but activity could still be found at the scene when Sky5 arrived a few minutes later.

Several people, possibly students and staff, were still standing in an area marked off by yellow tape.

Several holes were also visible in the roof of the school where firefighters worked to ventilate the building.

Classes were scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., about 15 minutes after the fire was reported.

No injuries were immediately reported.
