Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews were working Monday to shut down the water flowing from a pipe that burst near a busy Hollywood intersection, officials said.
Kim Hughes, spokeswoman for the agency, said the DWP first heard about the break near Santa Monica Boulevard and Highland Avenue about 4:30 p.m.
The intersection was expected to be closed for at least a few hours.
There was no estimate for how long crews would be working on the 12-inch pipe or how many customers would be without water while repairs were done.
