A funeral service was held Wednesday for Los Angeles Police Department Officer Fernando Arroyos, who was shot and killed while off duty last month.

The service took place at the Hall of Liberty Mosaic Deck at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills and was attended by many police officers.

“May the full weight of our criminal justice system be brought to bare on these individuals’ selfish, callous and evil disregard for the value of human life in this murder ,” LAPD Chief Michel Moore said during the service.

Arroyos was gunned down during an attempted robbery while he and his girlfriend were shopping for a home in South Los Angeles on Jan. 10. Four people face federal charges in his killing.
