Gun Used in Attempted Robbery of Student on CSUN Campus; Man Sought

A man with a gun attempted to hold up a student on the Cal State Northridge campus Tuesday night, campus police stated in a crime alert.

Cal State Northridge campus police released this sketch of a man sought in an attempted robbery on campus.

The incident occurred about 6:18 p.m. as the student was walking on Matador Walk toward the student recreation center within the University Student Union, the Cal State Northridge Department of Police Services stated in the alert.

A man on a bicycle rode up to the student and pointed what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun toward the ground and demanded she give him all her money.

The student said she didn’t have any money and the man told her not to yell before he rode away without taking any property, according to the Police Department.

The man was last seen riding north through the University Student Union.

He was described as a slender white man, wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses, black pants, and a black pullover hoodie sweatshirt with red lettering.

He was riding a black mountain bike.
