Historic storm blamed for bike trail collapse in Pacific Palisades

This week’s massive storm is being blamed for a collapse along the Marvin Braude Bike Trail in Pacific Palisades.

The portion of the trail between Chautauqua Boulevard and Entrada Drive had to be closed due to the damage, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works posted on X, Formerly Twitter.

“Please steer clear of this stretch and stay tuned for future updates,” the department urged residents and visitors.

The damage came the same week Southern California was drenched by a powerful storm fueled by an atmospheric river.

More than 7 inches of rain was recorded this week in nearby Santa Monica, according to the National Weather Service.

The closure will be temporary but the DPW did not give an estimated date of reopening.
