Authorities were called to the 1700 block of West Ninth Street about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a call about a deceased person, the Pomona Police Department stated in a news release.

Arriving officers found 78-year-old Rudy Ramos and his wife Gloria Ramos, also 78, each suffering from a single gunshot wound.

A gun was found lying next to the victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.

“It appears based on the call that family members found their parents,” Sgt. Bert Sanchez said.

Investigators do not believe there are any outstanding suspects in the case. “It may have been a murder-suicide, or it could have easily been a double suicide. We don’t know for sure yet,” Sanchez said, adding that a note was not found at the scene.

Anyone with further information was asked to call the Police Department at 909-620-2085. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
