A Pico Rivera couple was found shot to death Tuesday morning by sheriff’s deputies responding to a “persons needing medical assistance” call.

The 911 call came in around 9:30 a.m. from a home in the 9600 block of Kruse Road, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

When deputies arrived, they found 73-year-old Gloria Sancho and her husband Antonio Sancho, 68, lying on the kitchen floor, the release stated.

Both appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

The couple had been married for more than 12 years, but were in the process of getting a divorce and selling their home, sheriff’s officials said.

Investigators believed Antonio Sancho shot his wife multiple times and then shot himself with a handgun.

The gun was recovered at the scene.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
