Jay Leno had quite a scare while filming the latest episode of his car show at the Irwindale Speedway.
The former “Tonight Show” host got in the passenger’s seat as 80-year-old stunt driver Bob Riggle took his 2,500-horsepower Hemi Under Glass for a spin. Riggle is known for his ability to drive on two wheels.
Leno can be heard quipping that it’s “2,500 horsepower on two wheels. What could go wrong?” as Riggle guns the muscle car.
While making a turn, the car rolls over. Cameras inside the car show Leno and Riggle being violently tossed around.
Luckily, both were buckled in and wearing helmets. The two walked away from the crash without injuries.
However, the car was beat up. Riggle said it was only the second accident he’d had in 50 years of running the car.
The ride was being filmed for the season premiere episode of CNBC’s “Jay Leno’s Garage.”
