The running of the 30th L.A. Marathon Sunday once again means a number of streets and freeway ramps will be closed to accommodate some 26,000 runners who are expected to take part in the annual 26.2-mile race.
Road and ramp closures on the eastern-stretch of the course will begin at 3 a.m., hours before the official start of the marathon at Dodger Stadium.
Most of the closures in the downtown L.A. area should be lifted before 10:30 a.m., after the runners pass through the early stage of the course.
The marathon will end at the Santa Monica Pier. Streets closures on the western portion of the course, including Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Santa Monica, were scheduled to begin and end later.
The affected freeways include the 110, 101, 405 and Pacific Coast Highway.
