If you’re looking to ski or snowboard in California, the recent storms have given Mammoth Mountain nearly 2 feet of fresh powder.
On Monday, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area officials said there is 20 inches of fresh snow on the ground, a number that is expected to grow by “a few more inches” Monday afternoon and evening.
Of that amount, 8 inches fell in the past 24 hours, taking the monthly total to 63 inches at the Main Lodge and even more at the summit.
Base depths are currently 50 inches at the lodge and 80 inches at the summit.
“Most all of the mountain is open!” MMSA officials said.
