Sexual Battery Suspect Arrested After Allegedly Trying to Pull Woman Into Park Bushes in Rancho Cucamonga

Authorities have arrested a man accused of grabbing and attempting to sexually assault a woman by pulling her into some bushes at a park in Rancho Cucamonga earlier this week, the Sheriff’s Department stated Wednesday.

A woman told investigators she was at Milliken Park about 10:20 p.m. Monday when a man jumped out from behind the bushes, grabbed her shirt and attempted to pull her back in, the San Bernardino County Sherriff’s Department stated in a news release.

The woman contacted authorities, who located the suspect hiding in the bushes where the victim said the assault took place, the Sheriff’s Department stated.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Gregory Nesmith, of Atlanta, Georgia, in connection with the attack.

Nesmith was booked on suspicion of sexual battery.

Bail for Nesmith was set at $50,000.
