The man was pulled from the water near 2100 Ocean Front Walk (map), and CPR was administered by Los Angeles County Fire Department lifeguards and officials, an LAFD alert stated.

The man’s pulse was regained, but he remained in grave condition.

The high surf advisory was in effect Tuesday through 6 p.m. Friday, warning of 10 to 15 foot waves.

A surfer died Tuesday after being pulled from Malibu beach waters, and nearly 175 swimmers were rescued in L.A. County on Wednesday, which was considered the peak of the high surf activity.
