Driver stabbed to death after crash at South Bay intersection

Detectives are investigating after a man was found stabbed to death after an apparent crash at a busy South Bay intersection Tuesday.

Witnesses said the suspect allegedly rear-ended the victim’s SUV near 111th Street and Larch Avenue in the Lennox neighborhood at around 12:24 p.m. 


The two drivers reportedly exited their vehicles and that’s when the victim was stabbed to death.

Los Angeles County deputies responding to the scene found an adult male victim with stab wounds on his upper torso lying on the ground.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect had fled the area before authorities could arrive. Further details leading up to the violent encounter remain unclear.

A large Infiniti SUV was seen being towed away from the intersection by authorities.

Citizen video showed a large portion of the street was cordoned off as deputies investigated the scene.

Detectives were also seen investigating another location near Imperial Highway and Hawthorne Boulevard in Hawthorne that may be related to the incident.

The deadly stabbing remains under investigation. The suspect remains at large.
