A violent hit-and-run left a person dead on the 6th Street Bridge early Saturday morning, authorities confirmed. 

According to a Los Angeles Police Department Spokesperson, the collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. and involved a pedestrian who was crossing the bridge when he was hit. 

First responders rushed to the bridge to render medical aid to the victim, however he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was described as a 32-year-old Hispanic man, the LAPD spokesperson said. 

Video footage obtained by KTLA shows the victim underneath a white sheet on the side of the roadway as authorities shut down part of the bridge for their investigation. 

No description of a suspect or a vehicle was immediately made available.
