A man and a woman were stabbed Wednesday at a gas station in Victorville, authorities said.

A call came in just after noon about a possible double stabbing at the Valero station in the 12000 block of Amargosa Road, according to a spokesman for the Victorville Police Department, operated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

A male and female victim were transported to a hospital in unknown condition, the spokesman said.

One person was being questioned at the scene, but the spokesman would not say if that individual was a suspect.

The circumstances of the attack were unknown, the spokesman said.

A witness told a reporter for the Victor Valley News that the stabbing occurred after a verbal altercation between a man on a bicycle and the couple. The assailant fled on foot, according to the reporter, who posted a live Periscope video from the scene.

The video showed sheriff’s investigators and an ambulance on scene, and evidence markers on the concrete directly adjacent to the store.

The victims were taken to a nearby park, from which they were airlifted, the Victor Valley News reported.
