Stay calm, Ventura County. When you hear the roar of military aircraft overhead, it is only a drill.

Naval Base Ventura County announced on Friday that through Feb. 2, Exercise Bamboo Eagle will be taking place “in designated airspace off the coast of Southern California.”

“Communities in the Camarillo, Oxnard, and Thousand Oaks area may experience increased jet activity during this time,” NBVC said in a news release shared by the city of Camarillo.

The planes will begin arriving Friday in preparation for the Air Force’s “exercise focusing on training and readiness across multiple domains,” military officials said.
