A mother bear and her cub drew a crowd in an Arcadia neighborhood Thursday morning as they sat in a tree and ate a snack in the branches.
The Sierra Madre Police Department received a call about 7:45 a.m. and found the two bears in a tree in a front yard at the intersection of Stonehouse Road and Grandview Avenue, said Sgt. Ruben Enriquez of the Sierra Madre Police Department.
Spectators started to gather around the area, and at one point, almost 20 people were gathered near the yard, Enriquez said. Joggers stopped their runs, morning walkers slowed down and even drivers got out of their cars to see the bears.
