Motorist hit by falling tree in Hollywood Hills

A tree toppled over and struck a moving vehicle amid a heavy rainstorm in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles Thursday.

The incident was reported shortly after 9 a.m. in the 2600 block of Cahuenga Boulevard, which runs parallel to the 101 Freeway, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed.

Sky 5 was over the scene at 10 a.m. as the tree remained down across two lanes of traffic

Video showed damage to the windshield of a blue Subaru, which had been struck while traveling on Cahuenga Boulevard.

No injuries were reported in the incident, the LAPD spokesperson said.

One person, possibly the driver, was seen hugging another person at the scene after the crash.

Cars were backed up along Cahuenga Boulevard as crews worked to clean up the mess.

It was unclear how long the lanes would remain closed.
