A two-vehicle crash in San Bernardino late Thursday night left one person in grave condition and six others injured, authorities said.

The collision occurred about 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of North Arrowhead Avenue and 5th Street (map), according to Lt. Travis Walker of the San Bernardino Police Department.

An Acura with four occupants was headed eastbound on 5th at a high rate of speed when it ran a red light and struck a pickup truck that was traveling northbound on Arrowhead, Walker said.

The three occupants of the truck had to extricated after the crash, police said.

All seven people were transported to hospitals, according to authorities. A female occupant of the truck was in grave condition, and a child who was in the same vehicle was in critical condition. The injuries of the other five people were described as minor to moderate.

It was not immediately clear if one of the drivers was under the influence, the Police Department said. An investigation is underway.
