Officials search for missing Southern California woman with autism

Loved ones and officials are searching for a missing Ventura County woman with autism.

Zyanya Valora, 21, is considered at-risk and went missing on June 24, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

She was last seen walking away from her Mira Monte home in an unincorporated suburb in the Ojai Valley at around 8 p.m.

She is described as 5 feet tall and weighing about 90 pounds. She has black hair and dark brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white top, shorts and no shoes.

Zyanya has autism and is considered an at-risk missing person, authorities said.

Officials noted, “Zyanya may not be communicative if approached.”

Zyanya Valora, 21, is seen in a photo from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

Search and rescue teams from multiple counties are searching for Zyanya, including an unmanned aerial unit, scent K9s and other specialized teams.

“Searches have been conducted daily and throughout evening hours and will continue through the weekend,” said Ventura County deputies. “You can help in the search by walking your private property to check buildings and thick brush where Zyanya could find refuge.”

Residents are also asked to check home surveillance footage for sightings of the woman.

Anyone who may have spotted Zyanya is asked to call the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office at 805-654-9511.

“We thank the community for being alert to any sighting and your support via sharing social media,” officials said. “Thank you to all local businesses for posting flyers with Zyanya’s information.”
