Man Arrested After Alleged Vehicle Theft in Central L.A.; Police Searching for Second Man

Police established a perimeter in Central L.A.’s Arlington Heights neighborhood Friday morning after two men allegedly fled on foot after attempting to steal a vehicle, according to  Los Angeles Police Department officials.

Officers responded to reports that a person witnessed a vehicle theft near Country Club Drive and Fourth Avenue (map) around 4 a.m., LAPD Sgt. Jeritt Severns said.

Two men were seen fleeing on foot and a perimeter was established, he said.

One man was eventually found hiding nearby and was taken into custody.

Police continued searching for the second man.

Officers did not see weapons on the men and no evacuations in the area were ordered.
