A school district official said Friday that a “printing error” was to blame for a typo that made its way onto this year’s Ontario High School diploma covers.
“The misspelling was a printing error made by the grad products company,” Chaffey Joint Union High School District Superintendent Mathew Holton wrote in an emailed statement to KTLA.
The district’s response came after social media users posted photos showing the typo — school was spelled “shcool” — on the diploma covers.
All graduates from the high school’s class of 2016 will be given a corrected diploma cover and an apology letter, Holton said.
