Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs, the iconic hot dog stand in Los Angeles, will be offering chili dogs for 77 cents for a limited amount of time Thursday night in celebration of its 77th anniversary.
The deal is good for just 77 minutes — from 7 p.m. to 8:17 p.m. — at the stand’s location near the corner of La Brea and Melrose avenues, according to the company.
Patrons will be limited to ordering up to seven chili dogs in order to keep the lines, which are often quite long, moving.
Pink’s chili dogs normally cost $4.40.
All proceeds from the 77-minute event will be donated to the Bob Hope USO at Los Angeles International Airport, which will benefit those who serve in the U.S. military, according to a news release.
Founded by Paul and Betty Pink, who began selling their hot dogs from a cart on La Brea Avenue in 1939, Pink’s has become a Hollywood landmark. The local business continues to be family owned and operated, and has expanded to 10 locations, including in Southern California, Las Vegas and Ohio, according to its website.
