A DUI suspect was arrested after they crashed into several parked cars and an iron fence while traveling at a high rate of speed, police say. 

According to a Buena Park Police Department spokesperson, a call reporting a traffic collision between a vehicle and parked cars came in just after midnight Tuesday in the 6000 block of Stanton Avenue. 

“A witness reported seeing the suspect’s vehicle traveling northbound on Stanton at 60 miles per hour before hitting four parked cars,” Buena Park police confirmed to KTLA. “The suspect’s vehicle came to a stop after crashing into an iron fence at an apartment complex.” 

Video from the scene shows first responders using the jaws of life to free the driver from the wreckage. The parked vehicles involved in the crash sustained heavy damage.

The driver of the vehicle, who was its sole occupant, was transported to a nearby hospital with a “significant” leg injury, authorities said. Their identity was not immediately released. 

The motorist was found to be under the influence at the time of the crash; they are being by way of complaint, meaning they will receive a notice to turn themselves in upon being discharged from the hospital, law enforcement officials stated.
