Police Officer Narrowly Avoids Striking Woman Who Collapsed on Dark Street in Cypress

A police officer in Cypress was rushing to assist another officer at the scene of a DUI when he nearly ran over a woman who had collapsed on Cerritos Avenue.

Officer Juan Robles had just turned a corner off Walker Street when the woman appeared directly in front of him, the video showed.

The woman had suffered a medical emergency and was disoriented, said Police Chief Jackie Gomez-Whiteley.

The close call was captured by the patrol car’s dash-cam.
