Police on Tuesday morning responded to a report of shots fired in the North Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, officials said.

The Los Angeles Police Department received a radio call reporting gunfire near the intersection of Community Street and Haskell Avenue, just west of the 405 Freeway (map), said Officer Liliana Peciado.

Officers shut down some streets in the area while they conducted a search for possible armed or injured persons, Peciado said. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were also on scene.

Aerial footage showed five people with their hands up, approaching police on foot. The three women and two men were then searched and detained.

No other information was immediately available.
