The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for the driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles Thursday night.

The pedestrian, a woman believed to be in her 60s, was hit on Crenshaw Boulevard at about 10:30 p.m., police said in a news release. She was declared dead at the scene and her identity has not yet been released.

The vehicle that hit her, possibly a tan-colored sedan, was headed south on Crenshaw when it struck her. It then fled onto Vernon Avenue and then Victoria Avenue, police said.
