Thousands of people attended a memorial service and free concert to honor music icon Prince Friday afternoon outside City Hall in Los Angeles.
The musical tribute was held on the south lawn of City Hall, located at 200 North Spring Street.
The Time, Faith Evans, Kenny Lattimore, Eric Benet, Aloe Blacc and other artists are set to perform at the free event, according to a news release from City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson announcing the event.
Spring Street was closed from West First Street to West Temple Street from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to the news release.
Attendees are advised to take public transportation because parking at City Hall will be closed to the public.
Prince was found unresponsive in an elevator on April 21 at his Paisley Park home studio.
Following news of music legend’s death, City Hall was illuminated in purple light in his honor.
The building was also the primary location for Prince’s Diamonds and Pearls music video.
