Muslim Rancho Cucamonga Student Mislabeled as ‘Isis’ in Yearbook Speaks Out

A Rancho Cucamonga student who was misnamed as “Isis” in her high school year book spoke out during a news conference at the Council on American-Islamic Relations office in Anaheim and said she was “embarrassed” by the ordeal. Bayan Zehlif said she initially tried to brush it off but could not. “I feel like a lot of people are looking up to me … to see how to handle this situation, and to stand up for the people that do get discriminated against,” she said.
