Four suspects were being sought Wednesday night after an armed smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry store in the Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park.
The robbery occurred at 7:45 p.m. at the Ben Bridge store located on the second floor of the mall, according to Officer Mike Lopez with the Los Angeles Police Department.
The robbers were described as four male blacks wearing hoodies, Lopez said. At least one of them was armed with a handgun.
The men ordered the store employees to get on the floor and smashed a display case, according to Lopez.
They took approximately 40 Rolex watches, some of which were equipped with GPS tracking devices.
Officers were able to follow the tracking devices southbound from the 101 Freeway to the 405 Freeway where they lost the signal, Lopez said.
Video from the scene showed officers walking along the shoulder of the 405 Freeway between Mulholland and Skirball Center drives looking for evidence that may have been tossed by the suspects.
No description of the getaway car was available.
