A reporter and photographer were injured when a tree fell while they covered a weather story in San Diego’s Mira Mesa community Monday morning, TV station KGTV reported.
The KGTV employees were in the 10100 block of Maya Linda Road, where several trees were down, when another fell, injuring them both, the station reported.
Reporter Marie Coronel, was seriously injured and was expected to require surgery.
Photographer Mike Gold suffered a compound leg fracture and underwent surgery, according to the station. He was the one to call 911.
