A San Pedro man has been arrested in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in Ventura in January.

Aaron Greene, 32, was taken into custody on Wednesday in connection with the Jan. 3 crash in the 3200 block of Harbor Boulevard, the Ventura Police Department said in a news release.

Just after 10 p.m. that night, a vehicle purportedly driven by Greene struck a pedestrian and “immediately fled the scene, making no attempt to check on the pedestrian that they had struck,” police said.

That pedestrian, a man whose identity has not been released, was declared dead at the scene.

“During an extensive investigation over the next few weeks, investigators were able to identify Aaron Greene as the driver of the vehicle that evening,” police said.

He was booked on charges of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter, and he has since been freed on bond.

He is due to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on Feb. 15.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Garcia at 805-339-4326.
