A family dispute may have led to a shooting at Pepper Tree Elementary in Upland on Friday evening where young children were attending an after-school program.

The suspect was identified by police as 41-year-old Amy Schaefer of Claremont.

She was accused of using a pellet gun to shoot another woman who worked as an aide at the school, according to Sgt. Marcelo Blanco of the Upland Police Department.

Schaefer was found nearby and had apparently shot herself with the same weapon, police said.

Both women were hospitalized with non-life threatening wounds.

None of the children were injured.

It was not clear what led to the shooting.

The relationship between the two women was also still being investigated.
