Two people were caught on camera getting into a Mercedes in La Verne and driving away in what police said Wednesday is a car burglary possibly connected to a string of thefts.

The video, provided to KTLA by a neighbor, shows what appears to be two females walk toward the driveway of a home and later drive off in a silver sedan early Tuesday. But police said it also shows a burglary-in-process that happened in the 5700 block of Vía Barcelona.

Along with a male suspect, the two females are accused of stealing the keys to the silver Mercedes from another car in that same driveway earlier in the morning, according to La Verne Police Lt. Tom Frayeh. The male suspect is believed to have been driving a red Kia as a getaway vehicle.

They came back to the driveway to take the vehicle, which was reported stolen around 11:30 a.m., Frayeh said.

The ages of the suspects are not known.

Police are investigating three other vehicle burglaries or thefts that happened the same morning in north La Verne, according to Frayeh.

He said the burglary of a vehicle in the 2000 block of Bogie Drive is believed to have involved the same suspects.

However, police are still investigating whether two thefts that occurred in the 1000 block of Nashport Street and the 5900 block of Overholtzer Drive are connected to the incidents along Vía Barcelona and Bogie, Frayeh said.

No other details have been released.
