Light snow and rain fell on the 5 Freeway through the Grapevine area Monday afternoon as a weak pacific storm swept through Southern California.
Video recorded just north of Lebec showed snow falling shortly before 2 p.m. but melting as soon as it hit the roadway.
In addition to scattered rain and snow flurries, the storm was expected to bring cold temperatures and gusty winds to the region.
Wind advisories were issued for the Ventura County and Los Angeles County Mountains, as well as the Antelope Valley, including Lancaster and Palmdale beginning at 6 p.m. Monday and continuing through noon Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts to 45 mph, were forecast for those areas, with the strongest winds predicted for the I-5 Corridor, the weather service stated.
Any precipitation associated with Monday’s storm was expected to be minimal, according to forecasters.
