Street closures are in place Monday as revelers descend on West Hollywood for the annual Hollywood Carnaval, dubbed by the City as the “world’s largest Halloween festivity.”
The event takes place on Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard and is expected to draw several hundred thousand people, according to the City’s website.
The celebration begins at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 11 p.m., however, revelers are known to stay into the early morning hours.
The City’s website provided the following list of road closures:
Main Closures:
- San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from 12:00 a.m. midnight on Monday, October 31, 2016, to 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
- Santa Monica Boulevard between North Doheny Drive and Holloway Drive/ Croft Avenue from 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
- La Cienega Boulevard will close to North/South traffic at 4:00 p.m on Monday, October 31, 2016.
Additional Closures:
- All alleyways between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from 12 a.m. midnight on Monday, October 31, 2016, to no later than 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
- Robertson Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from 12 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016, through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
- Almont Drive between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from 12 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016, through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
- La Peer Drive between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from 12 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016, through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
- San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Cynthia Street from 12 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016, through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
- La Cienega Boulevard between Holloway Drive and Melrose Avenue from 4 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2016, to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
- Sunset Boulevard eastbound/westbound turn lanes onto southbound La Cienega Boulevard from 4 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016, through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
