Taco and Enchilada Seasoning Mixes Recalled Over Possible Peanut, Almond Contamination

Taco and Enchilada seasoning mix sold under the brand names Ortega and Las Palmas were the subject of a voluntary recall over concerns they may contain peanuts and almonds.

The recall involved certain batches of Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix, Ortega Taco Sauce, Ortega Enchilada Sauce and Ortega Taco Kit products as well as certain Las Palmas Taco Seasoning Mix and Las Palmas Taco Sauce products.

The recall was initiated after the company learned that “one or more of the spice ingredients purchased from a third party supplier contain peanuts and almonds,” according to a statement from the company.
