Teen fatally stabs other teen at Los Angeles Police Department-sponsored street carnival

A summer carnival in Los Angeles turned deadly after a teen was stabbed following a fight on Saturday night.

A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that the stabbing took place around 10:30 p.m. on Venice Boulevard near Keystone Avenue in L.A.’s Palms neighborhood.

At the time, the LAPD’s Pacific Area Boosters Organizers were hosting the second night of a three-night street carnival as part of the Palms Weekend Festival, which is taking place on Venice between Overland and Motor avenues.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, only identified as a 16-year-old Hispanic boy, was involved in an altercation with multiple other teens when he was stabbed multiple times by a 15-year-old boy.

The 16-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival, police said.

As of 6 a.m. Sunday, no arrests had been made, and no suspect description was immediately released.

According to KTLA 5’s Jennifer McGraw, it appears that the carnival will continue as scheduled for its final night on Sunday.
