Teen killed at Riverside party was stabbed by fellow teen, police say

The Riverside Police Department has identified a 19-year-old Eastvale man as the alleged assailant in a teen’s fatal stabbing in Riverside Sunday morning.

Around 12:20 a.m. in the 3400 block of Gay Way, officers arrived to the scene of a party, and as the event was ending, they learned two teenagers had been stabbed. One of them, a 17-year-old whose identity is not being released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other victim was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, and a third teen was also treated for a stab wound, police said.

Alexandro Romero is seen in an undated mugshot provided by the Riverside Police Department on March 5, 2024.

On Tuesday, Officer Ryan Railsback said Alexandro Romero, 19, was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing.

Jail records indicate he is being held without bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center, and his charge is listed as murder with malice aforethought, or premeditated murder.

He is due to appear in the Riverside Hall of Justice on Wednesday.

No further information was released about the condition of the other two teens who were stabbed.
