With a flood advisory and high wind warnings in effect, those who live near the Sand Fire burn area were preparing Friday for increasing rain.
Continued heavy rainfall throughout the day also forced the closure of Sand Canyon Road at Iron Canyon Road. The swollen creek reached the bridge at that location, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Soledad Canyon Road between Agua Dulce Canyon Road to Crown Valley Road is also closed, officials said.
Several roads in Placerita Canyon remain shut down at the Arizona Crossing, including:
- Meadview Avenue
- Quigley Canyon
- Golden Oak Lane
- Choke Cherry Lane
- Oak Creek Avenue
Springs, Sand, & Fish Fire areas will be impacted soon. Mud & debris flows likely. Move away from these areas now! #LARain #CARain
