Two men have been hospitalized after they were shot during an apparent robbery in the Encino area of the San Fernando Valley early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. on Hayvenhurst Avenue as the two men were stopped beneath the 101 Freeway overpass to check their tire pressure, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told KTLA.
The victims were approached by a Black man in his 30s who demanded property and shot at them as they were working on their vehicle, the spokesperson said.
Both victims, also said to be in their 30s, were struck by the gunfire.
They were later transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Police are still searching for the suspect.
It was unclear if anything was taken in the incident.
