A UC Santa Cruz student from Los Angeles County has died, a week after she was struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run collision while walking from a Halloween party, authorities said Sunday.

Alexandria Arceneaux, 20, was hit Oct. 30 about 2 a.m. while walking along Highway 1 between River and Mission streets, according to the Santa Cruz Police Department.

Arceneaux was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and she died Saturday while surrounded by family members from the L.A. area, police said.

Earlier in the week, Arceneaux’s mother, Gina Williams, told the Santa Cruz Sentinel that her daughter was walking with friends when she was struck.
